A new controlled parking zone around a busy street could ease parking pressures.

Haringey Council plans to extend the CPZ around Green Lanes in Harringay after residents around Black Boy Lane complained about not being able to park.

The new parking restrictions would include Black Boy Lane, Clarence Road, Clinton Road, Farmer Road West, Station Crescent and Dagmar Road.

Councillor Brian Haley, cabinet member for environment and conservation, said: “Residents in the proposed CPZ area have made it very clear that they want new parking restrictions in their roads. We have listened to their concerns, and we are taking action through our new fast-track consultation process.

“I would encourage anyone interested in these CPZ proposals to get in touch and give us their views, so that we can weigh up local opinion.

“This consultation will enable us to take action quickly to resolve parking problems. But if it transpires that lots of people do not want an extension to the CPZ, then we won’t proceed with these proposals.”

New fast-track procedures will allow the council to only consult the public once.

The consultation period will run until November 13. Anyone with any questions about the scheme can contact Vincent Adenowo, the project engineer, on 020 8489 1324.
