COMMUTERS using the Piccadilly Line may have noticed an improvement to their journeys after a new timetable was introduced.
The Tube line which serves Bounds Green, Wood Green and Turnpike Lane will now run more trains in the evenings and at weekends.
A spokesman for Transport for London (Tfl) said: "The Piccadilly line is unique because it serves the heart of the West End’s tourist and entertainment districts as well as Heathrow Airport.
"Trains are often just as busy in the evenings and at weekends as they are at peak commuter times."
Tube bosses said that more trains are now on time and waiting times have decreased by an average of 25 per cent.
Overall journey times have also been reduced.
Phil O'Hare, General Manager for the Piccadilly line, said: "The success of our new timetable means our customers have quicker journeys and a more reliable service on the Piccadilly line.
"Passengers going out for the evening in the West End also see benefits from these changes. Our customers have noticed this with customer satisfaction at record levels."
An upgrade of the Tube line is also underway which includes new trains and is due to be completed in 2014.
