A MAN has been charged with conducting a menacing campaign of car and motorcycle thefts across Haringey, Barnet and Islington.

Anthony Brown, 32, of Poynings Road, Islington, will appear at Wood Green Crown Court, in Lordship Lane, on Friday to face accusations of robbery and gun charges.

Brown is accused of targeting car owners who had their expensive motors for sale online.

On December 29, he is said to have struck at Homleigh Road Estate, in Hackney, and used a replica firearm to threaten his victim as he robbed him.

A similar incident took place in Sutton Road, Barnet, on March 4.

He is also accused of stealing two cars in Landseer Road, Islington, on February 18, and in Toyne Way, Highgate, on August 25, 2008. On November 25 he is accused of stealing a third car in Great North Way, Barnet.

He appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, in Bishops Road, on Saturday 8 August 2009.
