WITNESSES to a fatal bus smash in Green Lanes earlier this month are being urged to come forward.

Xena Mina, 41, from Haringey, was left fighting for her life after being involved in a collision with a bus on Friday, October 9.

Early reports suggest Miss Mina was crossing Green Lanes when she was hit by the bus, investigating officers said.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at 3.50pm and the victim was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with head injuries.

She died in hospital 10 days later.

A post mortem conducted at Hornsey Mortuary on October 21 reported cause of death to be traumatic head injuries including a fractured skull and blood haemorrhaging.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroner's Court on 22 October.

No arrests have been made.

Police Sergeant Cheryl Frost, of the Collision Investigation Unit based at Euston Traffic Garage, said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the Green Lanes area near the junction with Lothair Road to contact police.

"The collision took place at a time when Green Lanes would have been busy with people. I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and anyone who saw the victim in moments leading up to the collision."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police witness line on 0207 388 6806 or to contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
