HARINGEY Council's accounts for the past financial year will be made public throughout August.

Each year the council's accounts, together with all the books, deeds, contracts, accounts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them, are made available for inspection and for making copies.

The accounts for the year ending March 31, 2010, will be available on application to the council's chief financial officer from August 4 to September 2 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Local Government electors and their representatives have the opportunity to question the auditor on September 3 from 9.30am at the same address.

Electors and their representatives have the right to attend to make objections to the accounts, provided that written notice of any proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made is given.

A copy of any objection should be sent to the council.

The audit is carried out by Grant Thornton UK LLP and conducted under the provision of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003.
