DETECTIVES are investigating a sexual assault on a path close to Finsbury Park.

A 19-year-old woman was pulled into the bushes in Parkland Walk and assaulted by a man who had followed her from the park.

The attacker, who is around 30-years-old, European, and was wearing shorts and t-shirt, tried to talk to the woman before grabbing her wrist and dragging into the bushes.

She screamed and managed to escape, fleeing towards Stapleton Hall Road where she called police.

Police investigating the broad daylight attack, at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, July 19, have urged witnesses to come forward.

Police came to the scene but could find no trace of the man, and have since stepped up patrols in Parkland Walk to reassure the public.
