It is “important” that a metalwork business is allowed to challenge a government minister's decision forcing it to move, says MP David Lammy.

Archway Sheet Metals must be relocated before building work on the new Spurs stadium can begin.

Archway will challenge a recent decision by Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, to allow Haringey Council to issue a Compulsory Purchase Order on the property.

Mr Lammy, MP for Tottenham, said: “While it is of course frustrating for many that this project will experience yet more delays, it is important that individuals and businesses are able to exercise their right appeal.

“It is essential that due process is observed as these key decisions are made.”

The MP has previously called Mr Pickles’ decision “a relief” and said the length of time it took the government to reach a decision on the matter was "unfair".
