Major work around Tottenham Hale tube station is now complete, with the new bus station open.
The £34 million scheme, delivered by Transport for London and Haringey Council, has been funded by the Mayor of London’s Regeneration Fund.
The roundabout around Tottenham Hale has also been returned to two-way traffic, with new zebra crossings and wider pavements in places.
Transport for London hopes the changes will create a better connection between the area and the City.
Councillor Alan Strickland, cabinet member for regeneration and housing, said the new bus and tube stations were “vital” to the council’s “ambitious plans to transform the area into one of London’s most exciting places to live and work”.
He added: “Revolutionising Tottenham’s transport links is crucial to creating thousands of new jobs and homes in the area and to make it easier for local people to have quicker access to employment opportunities across the capital.”
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “Harnessing the full potential of the Upper Lea Valley is a top priority of mine and I’m delighted that these fantastic new transport facilities have been delivered in Tottenham Hale.”
