An eight year-old girl spoke of her joy at becoming a mascot at White Hart Lane.

Min Htije Kaung of Gloucester Road, Tottenam, led Tottenham Hotspur onto the pitch for their clash with Premier League rivals Chelsea on New Year’s Day.

Min regularly attends football sessions at White Hart Lane Community Centre, a Barclays Spaces for Sports site, and was being rewarded for the determination and commitment she had shown during training and matches there.

The Lilywhites romped to a 5-3 victory, much to the delight of Min. She said: “It was so good to meet all my favourite Spurs players and walk on to the pitch with them. There were a lot of people in the crowd and I had a lot of fun and was happy Spurs won."

Barclays Spaces for Sports is a community sports programme which uses the power of sport to help young people develop the confidence and skills they need and revitalise disadvantaged communities.
