Thousands of new homes are set to be built after the Mayor of London outlined new plans for housing.
Tottenham is to become one of the areas designated as a ‘housing zone’ under a new mayoral scheme.
Development will be focused at first on Tottenham Hale, where more than 2,000 extra homes will be built.
Haringey Borough Council hopes the scheme will boost employment in the area by 4,000 jobs, with the introduction of a new ‘district centre’ containing retail, leisure, creative industries and micro-manufacturing businesses.
