A man has been arrested and three teenagers taken to hospital following a pile-up on the North Circular Road.

Police were called to the A406 near Colney Hatch Lane at 3.20pm yesterday to reports of crash involving two articulated lorries and a Peugeot 206.

Officers, London Ambulance Service, London's Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade all attended the scene.

Three teenage girls, the 19-year-old driver of the Peugeot and her two passengers aged 15 and 19 were taken to hospital.

A 48-year-old man who was driving one of the lorries was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to the crash and anyone who saw the incident can call officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command on 020 8991 9555.
