Residents who are fed up with taking their life into their own hands when they cross the road can have their say in a survey about pedestrian safety in Haringey.

Joanne McCartney, who represents the borough on the London Assembly, wants residents to tell her which spots are the most dangerous to cross.

The study is timed to co-incide with road safety week, which is currently under-way.

Ms McCartney said: "We all know there are dangerous spots at which to cross London's roads, some much more so than others. I am already working on improving a number of crossings in Enfield and Haringey.

“I am extremely keen to hear from any pedestrians who have encountered particularly dangerous crossings.

"The theme of Road Safety Week is Protect the ones you love. I hope that this will provide the perfect opportunity to investigate where there might be black-spots and to start asking what can be done to make them safer."

So, if you know a crossing at which fast changing lights have you running for the other side as traffic revs up, or there is a place which should have a crossing but does not, or you know of an accident black spot which is a danger to pedestrians, Ms McCartney wants to hear from you.
