A BRUTAL stabbing in Harringay over the weekend left the victim needing 70 stitches to his face.

The 21-year-old man was attacked in Kimberley Gardens, Harringay, near St Ann's Road, at around 9pm.

He was slashed multiple times across his face and was taken to North Middlesex Hospital, in Edmonton, for treatment.

He was later transferred to Chase Farm Hospital, in Enfield, but has since been discharged.

Haringey police have not established whether or not the attack was provoked.

Detective Constable Dan Byers, of Haringey CID, said: "The victim's facial injuries required about 70 stitches. Thankfully he is now out of hospital and recovering.

"This was an extremely serious assault, the results of which could have been even worse, and I urge anyone with information to contact us."
