A TOTTENHAM man who murdered his housemate by stabbing him and hitting him on the head with a hammer has been jailed.

John Christopher Green, 48, of Craven Park Road, killed his friend and housemate Paul Duffy, 41, after a drinking session at a house in nearby Maple Close on January 5.

The Old Bailey heard how after an afternoon drinking with Green’s girlfriend Nardia Boukhari, 43, the three had an argument that ended with Mr Duffy being repeatedly hit with a hammer on the back of the head and stabbed several times.

Police arrested Green at the scene and paramedics rushed Mr Duffy to hospital, but he died from a haemorrhage and stab wounds.

At the court on Monday, Green was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, with a recommendation of at least 14 years in jail, while Boukhari was given a seven-year sentence for manslaughter.
