A 20-year-old unemployed woman has been found guilty of fraud after squatting in a house in Tottenham.
Anghelina Saratianu was sentenced at Tottenham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to 150 hours of unpaid work, a 12-month supervision order and to pay £150 costs for fraud.
Saratianu, and others, were found in the house in Holcombe Road after the estate agent showed a new tenant around the property.
The occupants told officers on Monday, December 5, that they had paid more than a £1,000 deposit and Saratianu showed tenancy agreement, which was later found to be fraudulent.
Saratianu was arrested on Wednesday, December 7, on suspicion of fraud by false representation after the document was found to be littered with errors.
She was taken to Tottenham police station where she was questioned and charged with the offence.
