Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is set to complete his move to Toronto - but will be loaned back to Spurs until March, when the MLS season starts.
Defoe will finalise a £6m deal on Monday and will reportedly earn £90,000 a week with his new club.
The 31-year-old's transfer has been in the pipeline for months but has been held due to concerns from the player about remaining in contention for a place in England's World Cup squad.
Tottenham will likely now look for a replacement for Defoe to cover for the last three months of the season.
