Tottenham are considering making a formal bid for in-form Burnley striker Danny Ings.
Ings, 21, has been integral to Burnley's promotion challenge this season with the English forward scoring 21 goals in 30 appearances.
Spurs are thought to be looking only at cheaper, short-term targets in the January transfer window and head coach Tim Sherwood is keen to buy British.
Burnley would be reluctant to let Ings leave midway through the season but Tottenham are confident a bid of around £5m would be too much too turn down.
