DeAndre Yedlin will complete his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Seattle Sounders in January, Spurs have confirmed.

The energetic full-back signed for Spurs in August but agreed to remain on loan with the MLS outfit for the remainder of the 2014/15 campaign.

Yedlin, 21, agreed a four-year contract at White Hart Lane in the summer.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino told the club's website: "Yedlin is a young player with great potential who has already achieved a lot in the MLS.

“It is important for his development that he is given the time to adapt to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch.

"We believe that by coming to us in January it will give him the best opportunity to do so."

A speedy, attack-minded full-back, Yedlin caught the eye for the USA – managed by Spurs favourite, Jurgen Klinsmann – during the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

Signed from the Sounders academy in 2013, Yedlin has since made 52 appearances in all competitions for the Seattle side and earlier this summer played against Spurs during their 3-3 draw in the United States.
