Shunned Spurs midfielder David Bentley is reportedly wanted by Blackburn Rovers manager Michael Appleton.
Appleton confirmed the Ewood Park club would like to bring the 28-year-old to Lancashire on loan after his last loan stint at Russian club FC Rostov did little to change his standing at White Hart Lane.
The winger has not made an appearance for Spurs since the 2010-11 season and could return to the Championship club where he made his name as a footballer.
Bentley played seven times for England and was brought to Tottenham by then manager Juande Ramos for £15 million from Blackburn in July 2008.
After a promising start to his career at Spurs, injuries and Aaron Lennon’s blistering form on the right wing pushed Bentley down the pecking order.
